Details

Start your summer off right with plenty of fun in the sun at River Riders Outdoor Adventure Camp.

Each week is packed with tons of Adventure Experience. Campers will become familiar with a wide variety of adventures and be able to hone in on the skills necessary to become experts in each activity.

The week begins with icebreakers and team-building games to get campers comfortable with their counselors and fellow campers. Outdoor Adventure Camp likes to start the morning full force to get everyone energized. Once everyone has arrived for the day, campers will head right to their morning activities. Campers will start their week at our Aerial Adventure Park, followed by a relaxing float down the Shenandoah River tubing. The following days will be jam-packed with adventure, education, and fun!

On the second day, campers will have the chance to try out our stand-up paddleboards and kayaks at our riverfront Harpers Ferry Campground location after a morning of zipping through the trees on our Zipline Canopy Tour. Campers will also go on an explorative hike of Historic Harpers Ferry, learning the history of the National Park as well as exploring the area’s flora and fauna. During this hike, campers will have the opportunity to purchase ice cream or a snack, so don’t forget to send them with a few extra spending dollars. After the hike, Campers will participate in one of our most challenging activities, White Water Tubing. With the help of their counselors, campers will be able to maneuver through the flat water and white water sections of the Potomac River.

After completing all of these activities, campers will have a blast with the most adventurous activity of the week: All Day White Water Rafting. Don’t forget to pack plenty of sunscreen and snacks because campers will be on the water having fun all day.

I'd like to say, "Thank you", for showing my daughter a wonderful time at camp! It's all she can talk about. She begging to come back in August. She has even said that she wants to do all the week's next summer. Even her attitude changed, it's much more positive now. She's never been a true outdoor kid until now. So again, Thank you! and she will be back.

Nick LOVED the zip line and adventure park. The counselors were, in his words, AWESOME. I appreciated that the kids were automatically made to feel comfortable and I gather they got an immediate sense of being able to trust the counselors which I think makes the separation from their parents a lot easier.

The counselors were awesome and helped my daughter through "scary" parts of the zip line. They were so helpful and super friendly. Even when a strong storm came through and the kids were on the river, they pulled over on an island and made a shelter for the kids, by flipping over the rafts! A+

I think your counselors are worth their weight in gold! The kids had so just as much fun with the counselors as they did with their friends!
