Overnight Adventure Weeks

Description:Team building fun at FLOC in Harpers Ferry  

Overnight Adventure weeks include all the sunsational activities that a standard Adventure Week does PLUS low rope, high rope, and rock climbing action at For Love of Children 's Outdoor Education Center in Harpers Ferry, WV. Campers will also enjoy 4 nights around the camp fire with new friends, old stories, and fire roasted goodies before spending the night in rustic, eco friendly cabins under the stars.

Eco-Friendly Practices:

This earth friendly, overnight week has an itinerary packed with great ideas to go green, along with plenty of thrilling adventures like white water rafting, low and high ropes courses, tubing, and rock climbing, and bowling. Camper will stay each night during this week in eco-friendly cabins at FLOC (For Love of Children Outdoor Education Center), a green facility located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Harpers Ferry. Raft fun in Harpers FerryCampers will explore ways in which they can live a more earth-friendly life by foraging food, practicing leave no trace ethics, and participating in trash removal and community revitalization efforts. At the end of the week campers will participate in the Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign by planting their own trees.
This session includes 4 nights of cabin camping and meals.

Camper Vs. Wild:
Camper Vs. Wild Overnight Week is dedicated to teaching your child how to survive in the wilderness in a variety of situations. Your child will learn how to use a map and compass, how to build fires and shelters, how to signal for help, and how to locate food and water in the wild, and much more! Your child wil also enjoy activities such as orienteering, low and high ropes course, rock climbing, and wihte water rafting. Each night campers will sleep in eco-friendly cabins at FLOC (For Love of Children Outdoor Education Center), a green facility located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside Harpers Ferry. This session also includes a mid-week trip to Greenbrier State Park for unforgettable trail hiking and lake activities.
This session includes 4 nights of cabin camping and meals.

Session 6: July 12-16, 2010 (Theme: Eco-Friendly Practices)
Session 8: July 26-30, 2010
(Theme: Camper VS Wild)

Eco-Friendly Week $419.00
Camper VS Wild Week $409.00

$50 per week for shuttle pickups and drop offs in Charles Town, Shepherdstown, Martinsburg, Hagerstown, Frederick, Leesburg, Winchester, or Gaithersburg*

*Must have at least 4 campers or $200 minimum per location

8 weeks $25 per week
10 weeks $30 per week

Times:
Drop off is from 8-9 am on Monday and pick up is from 4:30-5:30 pm on Friday unless other arrangements are made.

Liability Waiver: Liability Waivers must be read and completed for each camper.
Notes: Campers will be divided according to age and ability levels for activities.
Staff members trained in each specific activity will accompany campers.
Minimum age of 9.
