New River Adventure Week |
Description:
The skills needed to have a meaningful outdoor experience while remaining environmentally friendly will be taught during Outdoor Living Skills Week. Skills include map and compass reading, trip preparation and planning, food preparation and storage, knot tying, first aid and safety, environmental hazards, ecology, minimum impact camping, outdoor hazards, and weather. Campers will learn these skills while participating in a variety of the exciting outdoor activities offered including whitewater rafting on the Shenandoah River, guided kayaking,and guided tubing. Two nights of primitive camping are included. A 2 night rafting and climbing trip in the New River Gorge National Park. The trip will be run in conjuction with our partners at Rivers in Fayetteville, WV. Rafting on the Lower New River through the Gorge is class IV. This camp will be the ultimate thrill of your child’s summer and will help build their confidence and character as well as allow them to enjoy the outdoors, and gain a sense of accomplishment while having fun and building new friendships.

$319 per camper for the week |
| Discounts: when booked in advance and with prepayment only: 2 sessions $10 per week 4 sessions $15 per week 6 sessions $20 per week 8 sessions $25 per week |
| Times: Monday-Friday - 8:45 AM-4:30 PM Drop off is from 8-9 am and pick up is from 4:30-5:30 pm unless other arrangements are made. |

| Liability Waiver: Liability Waivers must be read and completed for each camper. |
| Notes: Campers will be divided according to age and ability levels for activities. Staff members trained in each specific activity will accompany campers. Minimum age of 9. Minimum age of 12 for New River. |
