Guided Whitewater Kayaking / Duckies
The initial guided kayaking trip follows the Potomac River on the same section as the tubing trips. Those that are able may progress to follow the same path as the rafts down the last reaches of the Shenandoah River. The trip trip description is the same as the rafting trip, We'll paddle our single-person sit-on-top kayaks or our one or two person duckies (inflatable kayaks). Two person duckies work well for one guide or older and one younger camper. Other younger campers may participate in the activity in a raft. Kayaking is a more challenging activity and will test skills, strength, and courage. As with all the activities at camp, this activity is always optional.
Our guide(s) will campers on appropriate paddling techniques before leading the way down the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.
